Founded in 1948, Auer Lighting has evolved to a global player and leading partner of the optical industry. The last 70 years were a big success of our company, rooted in the city of Bad Gandersheim. From the beginning of the first glass production in 1949, optical components were manufactured, namely (covering) glasses for street and other lighting. A major part of the production were safety glasses as well as containers for milk and other fluids. The following years of the company were characterized by a subsequent rise of production capability and capacity. Safety glasses were added and around 1986 a fully integrated post forming with high precision was implemented. As reflectors gained increasing importance, a patented and still unmatched new coating technology, called PICVD, was developed in laboratory and transferred into an industrial process with great success. Complex 3D-shapes as well as insides of containers are easily coated with functional or aesthetic layers. Auer Lighting has always been dedicated to minimize environmental footprint of its production and to help saving resources with its products. Our highly efficient oxy-fuel melters have been renewed ever since in regular intervals and guarantee low emission and energy efficient operation.
At the beginning of the new millennium, the first MicroDyn® sputtering coater was installed. Several more of them have been added so far, offering a larger choice of target materials and delivering tightest tolerances for all kinds of filters. The capability to offer advanced optical simulations was introduced and has been extended to offer quality developments and final products from one source.
But the constant improvement of our capabilities has not stopped: injection and non-isothermal pressing of precise and complex glass optics are now possible as well as the defined micro-structuring of glass and filters.
So today, we develop and manufacture a huge variety of precision glass components and coating solutions, being a key supplier to the markets of digital projection, automotive and architecture lighting as well as professional entertainment. We are proud to be regarded as an experienced and international industrial partner. Ideas and products from Auer allow our customers to be faster in the market, have a better quality or cost advantages over competition. Our headquarters in Germany, together with our additional production sites in India and sales and distribution centers on all continents provide an excellent service level around the world.
