###USER_salutation###,
With 2017 coming to its end, we would like to take the opportunity and thank you for your trust in us and the many fruitful cooperations. We will continue our efforts to be your partner in glass and coatings with many new innovations also in 2018.
Hopefully we see each other at one of the events in early 2018. You will find us at the Photonics West in San Francisco, the DVN Automotive Workshop in Munich, at LED Next Stage in Tokyo and at the Light+Building in Frankfurt.
Enjoy the upcoming Christmas season!

Are you experiencing issues with static electricity, dust and particles on glass and plastic surfaces? Then a special antistatic finish can be a clever choice to get rid of those obstacles.
Static charges can lead to numerous problems and will frequently occur on plastic surfaces. For example dust and other unwanted particles stick to the surface. To solve the issues, an electrically conductive coating that is designed to reduce or avoid the static-electrical charge can be used, resulting in a substantial reduction of dirt accumulation.
The coating specialists at Auer Lighting have developed a unique conductive coating made of doped tin oxide (FTO). This material has the advantage of combining the property of a high electrical conductivity with a high optical transmission. Besides that, it has various other beneficial properties like a high reflectivity for infrared radiation or excellent mechanical hardness, thermal stability as well as chemical inertness.
The FTO-coating deposited by means of plasma impulse chemical vapor deposition (PICVD) produces surfaces with a conductive, static dissipative, or antistatic finish with sheet resistances in the range of 104 – 1014 Ω/☐. PICVD is an exclusive deposition method, which enables uniform, homogenous high-quality films, either on the outside or even the inside of complex shapes like tubes and hollow cylinders (diameters in the rage of 10 – 120 mm). Furthermore, a coating of flats and spheres as well as complex optics, such as aspheres and freeform shapes can be achieved.
The realization of antistatic properties inside glass tubes is one of the typical applications of the aforementioned FTO-coating. Transparent electrical heating systems and electrodes can also be applied - again even on the insides. Moreover, it can be used for the preparation of interference systems (e. g. anti-reflective coatings, filters) with other oxide materials like SiO2 and TiO2, combining them with antistatic properties.
