Color filters and structures
Auer Lighting is well known as an innovative and reliable supplier for high performance optical filters. During the last 20 years, we have constantly tweaked our patented MicroDyn® coating technology at our headquarters in Germany. This special process offers high precision and, at the same time, temperature stable coating designs over large areas with a broad variety of possible sputtering materials. Automotive headlight applications based on SSL light sources require high-end filters, beam splitters and mirrors – easily done with our MicroDyn® machines. Stage light applications (spot or moving lights) rely on colorful dichroic filters including standard or customized CMY-sets as well as special customized single colors (with names as exciting as "Kelly Green" or "Aquamarine Blue"). Of course, all the coatings offer an excellent overall uniformity, the absence of any color shift, high color uniformity and temperature resistance. These properties are aging-free, and can be produced at large-scale volumes.
And recently, we took another challenge and developed structured coatings with extraordinary precision. One key technology for the precise local removal (ablation) of coatings are our Nd:YAG laser systems working with green light (532 nm). These industrial lasers in combination with proprietary software algorithms for the filter design are perfect for removing coatings selectively. This allows for the creation of completely new linear and nonlinear gradients of the coating density for filter and color effects as well as precisely engineered masking structures. The individual layouts can be applied to an area of up to 300 mm x 300 mm. In addition, the ablation of metal coatings – often used for gobos – is also possible. Besides coating and structuring, we do also offer the assembly of those components to sliders or holders. With this, we can add even more value to the products of our customers.
